Here’s my latest project. I've had an MPC AD&D Action Scene kit for, what, 20 years? I bought it on eBay once upon a time and have moved it back and forth among three continents. It came with all the pieces glued, but no paint at all. My intention was always to put it together one day, and now, as I'm cleaning up the house, that time has come.
My vision is to paint the whole thing and frame it inside a shadow box type frame. As the minis are super light, this should work--but first things first.
The first completed mini for this project: the carrion crawler, and the only mini in the set that is not copied from a Grenadier design. Here's the box art for the MPC kit, ca. 1980. I think I might frame this separately. Even though it's clearly a 1e black dragon on the front, the included mini is a stunted version of the Grenadier red dragon. But it does come with the dragon eggs and baby dragons, as well as the treasure hoard. This is the thin plastic base, primed gray.Primed black. You can see, too, that the dragon's wings are attached butterfly-style, which is how it is shown in the instructions.I'll zenithal prime these white next. Here's the original dark green color of the minis. Only missing pieces are a female cleric, and three leg bones and three skulls. Note that the "invaders" are three copies of the same figure: a dwarf with warhammer, an elf with short sword, and a halfling paladin.
